DESCRIPTION:The Show: Kerson is a violin wizard\, an international competition winner\, and hails from Ottawa. He will share with us some of his playing fireworks for all to enjoy! \nWinner of the prestigious International Yehudi Menuhin Violin Competition\, Kerson Leong has been described as “not just one of Canada’s greatest violinists but one of the greatest violinists\, period” (Toronto Star). He has performed with Brussels\, Oslo\, Royal Philharmonic and Istanbul\, Singapore\, Toronto\, Wuppertal and Montréal Symphony Orchestras. As a sought-after soloist\, Kerson has appeared at Carnegie and Wigmore Halls\, Auditorium du Louvre\, and National Center for the Performing Arts\, Beijing. He plays the ‘ex Bohrer\, Baumgartner’ Guarneri del Gesu violin courtesy of Canimex Inc. Drummondville. \nHis virtuosic recital includes violin works by Ysaÿe (Sonata No. 3 “Ballade” & Sonata No. 4 in E minor)\, Kreisler’s Recitativo and Scherzo\, and Bach’s Chaconne from Partita No. 2.
